There’s a Place for You

Serving is one of the ways we take an active part in the life and mission of Emmanuel.

God has given each of us different gifts, abilities, experiences and passions, and when we use them to serve others, the whole church family is strengthened. Whether you enjoy working with kids, welcoming people, helping behind the scenes, caring for others, working with your hands, or serving our community, there are many ways to get involved.

Take a look at the opportunities below and consider where God may be inviting you to take your next step.

Opportunities:

Building Maintenance Team

Help care for the building and property God has entrusted to us. Opportunities may include small repairs, ongoing maintenance, seasonal projects and practical jobs that help keep Emmanuel safe, welcoming and well cared for.

Commitment: Varies depending on the project and your availability.

Nursery:

Help create a safe, caring and welcoming space for our youngest children while parents participate in the Sunday service.

Commitment: Approximately once a month.

Greeting Team

Help people feel welcome from the moment they arrive. There are several ways to serve on our Sunday morning Greeting Team:

  • Usher

  • Front door greeter

  • Welcome desk host

  • Kids check-in helper

  • Elevator attendant

Commitment: Currently one month on, one month off. Our goal is to grow the team so volunteers can serve one month on and two months off.

Kids Time

Help make Sunday mornings engaging for our kids by leading a short Kids Time during the service. This might include a simple story, object lesson, question or activity that helps children connect biblical truth to everyday life.

You will be given the main idea or biblical truth for the morning, so you are not starting from scratch.

Commitment: Approximately once a month or every other month.

Missions Team

Help Emmanuel stay connected with and support our Global Workers serving in different parts of the world. The Missions Team helps build relationships with our Global Workers, keeps the church informed about their ministries and prayer needs, and creates opportunities for our church family to stay engaged with what God is doing beyond our local community.

The team also helps plan a few missions-focused events and opportunities throughout the year to build awareness, prayer and connection.

Commitment: One team meeting each month, along with a few events throughout the year.

After School Tutoring Team

We are developing an After School Tutoring Team to provide high school students with a welcoming place to study, ask questions and receive support in different subject areas.

Do you have a subject you enjoy or an area you feel confident helping with? You don’t need to know everything. We are looking for caring adults who can encourage students, help them work through challenges and grow in their understanding.

Commitment: Once a week on Thursday from 2:30–3:45 PM at Emmanuel House.

Kids Ministry

Help children grow in their faith and discover what it means to Love God, Love Others, Bless the World. There are two main ways to serve:

  • Teacher: Lead the prepared lesson and help guide children through the morning.

  • Classroom Helper: Serve alongside the teacher, helping with activities, conversations and supporting the children throughout the morning.

Commitment: Approximately once every 4–5 weeks.

Toddler Room

Create a fun, safe and caring environment for toddlers during the Sunday service. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys spending time with young children and helping families feel supported.

Commitment: Approximately once every 3–4 weeks.

Sunday Morning Welcome & Announcements

Help guide our church family through the Sunday service by welcoming everyone, sharing important announcements and helping people know what is happening in the life of Emmanuel.

Commitment: Approximately once a month or every other month.

Sunday Morning Worship Team

Help lead our church family in worship on Sunday mornings through music, sound and projection. Whether you sing, play an instrument, run sound, or help with slides and projection, each role helps create a welcoming and distraction-free environment where people can focus on Jesus and worship together.

Commitment: Approximately once every 4–5 weeks, including Sunday morning rehearsal and service.

Adult Ministries

Join Ryan Johnson and the Adult Ministries team in creating opportunities for adults and young adults to grow in their faith, ask questions, discuss meaningful topics and learn together.

The team will work with Pastor Daniel to identify learning topics, develop a ministry plan and help create spaces where people can go deeper in their understanding and practice of faith.

Commitment: Flexible, with opportunities to help with planning, developing learning topics and facilitating groups or discussions.

Community Meal Expansion Team

We are building a second Community Meal team to help us serve our community on the 3rd Friday of each month.

There are two main areas where you can serve: set-up and serving, or clean-up. Both are important parts of creating a welcoming evening for our community, and you can choose the area that works best for you.

Commitment: Once a month on the 3rd Friday. The set-up and serving team begins at 4:30 PM, and the clean-up team begins at 6:00 PM.
